You Call Them Karens, I Called them Buddies
Driving the Friendly Roadways
You can call them Karens, idiots, morons, crazies or a-holes; the “Karens get what they deserve.” At least according to YouTube they do.
I called them buddies. I was keeping it clean for my daughter in the car. Whenever an idiot would do something stupid on the road, I would yell buddy.
We lived in a very small town in North Carolina and we spent a lot of time traveling to the nearest town to shop, go to the park or eat lunch. She got used to hearing me talk to my buddy. Sometimes I yelled, sometimes I gestured, to my buddies.
Hey, it was better than calling them what they were; a-holes. Now we just call them Karens; those people for which rules don’t apply. Those people who have the nicest cars, but took a wrong turn leaving driving school for a highway to hell.
Buddies don’t believe in using turn signals. They don’t stay in their lane, they cut you off and slip ever so close to your bumper as they pass you at incredible speeds. The buddies run red lights and hit you in the middle of intersections. Buddies pull out in front of my car, while talking on a cell phone, and completely miss the fact they were almost t-boned. Buddies just seem to have their own rules, or perhaps were dropped down on the road by aliens.
