Francis Scott Key Bridge — Baltimore Update

The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed into the freezing Patapsco River at 1:29 a.m. in Baltimore on March 26. It was hit by a 984-foot cargo ship, Dali, after an electrical problem disabled the ship’s lights, navigation and steering capabilities.
Eight road crew workers were on the bridge filling potholes or having a lunch break when they suddenly plummeted into the water below. Two of the men survived by escaping from their vehicles into the water, six others did not survive. Four of the bodies have since been recovered.
One of the survivors, Julio Cervantes, said there was absolutely no warning a fully loaded disabled container ship was headed for the bridge. All of the men were hard working family men originally from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras or Mexico:
