When speaking with friends and coworkers, at some point someone says β€œWhat were you doing on September 11? The answers vary, but the memories are just as vivid as the gorgeous day when the tragedy happened.

I was having this conversation with a coworker recently and he told me he had just visited the twin towers a few months before September 11. The pain of watching the towers burn and then fall was like being kicked in the gut.

My daughter happened to call me just as we were talking about this and I put her on speaker. She told him about what she saw at the 9/11Trade Center Memorial. I am sharing it with you.

When she was 13, we took her to the Trade Center Memorial in New York City. It was a somber, reflective hallowed ground, but we felt it was important for her to see it.

While we walked around reflecting on the horrible day, we looked at the memorial names at the reflecting pool and the flowers planted on the site. The pain was just as sharp as when it happened.
