It’s Never Never Enough-Olivia Newton John
Water Under the Bridge, carry the pain away from me.
When I was 12 I fell in love with the pure, sweet and deeply rich voice of Olivia Newton John. This album was the first one I purchased and I played it over and over. I couldn’t get enough of the sweet, raw emotions of I Honestly Love You and later Have You Never Been Mellow, and Please Mr. Please.
Maybe there is a reason the girls of my generation loved Olivia, she started singing and forming her own band at the age of 14 in her native country Australia. She went on to have a huge musical and acting career, with award after award.
I especially enjoyed her contemporary versions of spiritual songs like The River’s Too Wide, Follow Me, and Let it Shine. I loved the deep base of her duet singer in Let Me Be There.
She often accompanied other singers, including one of my other favorites John Denver, and I loved Fly Away. And of course, there was John Travolta in You’re The One That I Want.
I loved her after her big image change, as the character of Sandy evolved into a leather wearing hipster who was not about to lose the man she loved. And then there was…
