It took me about 12 years to finally find a lap cat in the semi feral cat I have (Shadow). We had another cat who died, and she immediately took over for him becoming my number one fan. Now she sleeps on my stomach and sits on my lap when I watch TV. So no, I don't usually kick her off and it's always a good excuse for not going to the kitchen!!
