I didn't see the depth of character you refer to in this one. Not my favorite of the series.

…Games as necessary in the long run. Does the film’s structure feel like two movies in one? I guess. But when the story has the same depth of character as in the original films with clearly defined dynamics, bleak themes, and some outstanding emotional moments, it doesn’t effect my overall experience that much.
