I am saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Newhart on July 18th at the age of 94. He was one of those incredible talents who could just make us laugh as he’d stumble for the words. The expression in his eyes and the stammer in his voice were just hysterical.

Sorry I am a few days late, but I have been traveling and celebrating my birthday.

Bob Newhart started his decades in comedy by creating a telephone comedy gag with a coworker at an ad agency they worked for. He was featured on a comedy album and then fell into hollywood during the Rat Pack days.

He perfected the one-way conversation comedy technique, having conversations on the phone with imaginary people.

In recent years Bob Newhart said he had an incredible life and wouldn’t have changed a thing. He loved what he did and enjoyed being an entertainer for 62 years. One of his last roles as Professor Proton was on the Big Bang Theory from 2013 to 2018. He won a Prime Time Emmy Award for this role.
