Survivors of childhood sexual abuse are disregarded again

A few months ago, I wrote this article, and today I am updating you all on the travesty continuing for the victims of sexual abuse by the clergy of the Baltimore Catholic Church.

For hundreds of years, the Baltimore Diocese owned the city of Baltimore. It owned the judges, the courts, the land, the police, the journalists, and its “flock.” Priests used young children for their own twisted deviant sexual gratification and never had to answer to anyone.

A few of these victims stood up as adults, and because of their bravery, the years of salacious abuse became public. Not for the money. They wanted the public to know what happened to them and countless other precious, innocent children.

They wanted the Church to admit its sins. This is basic Catholicism; admit your sins in order to have forgiveness. It’s atonement.

It’s about sin; owning it, admitting it, and paying penance for it. The Catholic Church has always been…
